Daily living in crèche is to help children to understand themselves and peers personal feeling, develop social interaction skills, body movement and problem solving skills. Those activities provided are based on children’s ability, interest and growing needs. In order to assist children to develop good living habit, physical care arrangement including meal time, sleep time, cleaning, variety of activities and daily routine schedule is arranged by the age group and developmental needs.

Baby kitten (Birth to 8 months old baby)

Responding to babies’ development needs in daily living routine in crèche is the most important focus in this group. It helps children to understand themselves and establish social interaction.

Wide range of activities will be provide including physical activities, multi-sensory play and language to assist children whole person development.

Crawling bunny (At 8 months to 12 months old baby)

Children are becoming increasingly mobile during these few months. They are eager to move around and to explore the world on their own. In this period of time, sensory play is essential activities to stimulate cognitive development. At the same time, body movement and body coordination skills can be trained by physical activities. In addition, teacher – children communication, story telling, song singing and music activities can also enhance children’s language development effectively.

Walking lamb (At 13mouths to 18 months old toddler)

Toddlers start to walk steadily. Their fine motor skills become more precise and start to talk. They are interested in exploring themselves and the surrounding. The environment setting will be more opened and daily routine will be more structured. Gross motor and fine motor skills, self-care skills (e.g. using cutlery) and rules can be learned through different activities throughout the day. Also, teachers will read story books and talk with toddlers in order to boost their language development.

Running bear (At 19 months old or above toddler)

The purpose of daily routine is to establish children personal hygiene and healthy living habit. The programme is designed based on children’s interest as well as promoting engagement in activities, proactive expression and willingness to share.
